Hero Tameling is an emergency management professional, founder of Plangistics, LLC and co-founder of several businesses, including a next-generation online unified multimedia platform training/enterprise communications company.
He is a retired state human services strategic planning and Security and Emergency Preparedness Director, former elected official and EDC Commissioner, currently engaged in emergency preparedness/management planning, training and communications. Tameling is a Vietnam veteran, Train the Trainer qualified in the Department Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program, and holds certificates in many FEMA and IEMA emergency response and management programs, has authored numerous Emergency Operations Plans, and is a well-regarded practitioner of the Incident Command System (ICS), and National Incident Management System (NIMS).
Tameling has served on the Governor’s Campus Security Task Force, Illinois Terrorism Task Force, State Emergency Operations Center, State Incident Response Center, Illinois Green Government Council, Governor’s Rural Affairs Council, coordinated Illinois’ Katrina Assistance and Relief Effort (I-KARE) and developed the Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA), serving as its first Director. He was actively involved in the development and implementation of Illinois’ highly acclaimed Strategic National Stockpile Plan.
Tameling helped write the legislation that established the Illinois Local Food, Farms and Jobs Council and was co-President of the Council. He is a graduate of St. Joseph’s College (BSBM) and has held certification as a Professional Community and Economic Developer (PCED), an Illinois Professional Emergency Manager (IPEM), and was an associate field instructor in the Homeland Security Program of the U of I Illinois Fire Service Institute. Tameling is a graduate of Tri-River Police Training Region,served with the Will County Sheriff’s Police, Crete F-Men, and as a Will County Sheriff’s Office Merit Commissioner for more than 10 years.
Tameling received the President’s Call to Action Lifetime Volunteer Service Award, and was named a Fellow, Mid-America Regional Public Health Leadership Institute, University of Illinois/Chicago, College of Public Health in 2010.He is a member of the Illinois Emergency Services Management Association, and Life Member, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.

Mike has compiled more than forty-five years of experience in the criminal justice, emergency management and contractual security fields, most recently serving as National Account Manager and Regional Security Director for security contractors to the Simon Property Group.
As a seasoned emergency management Incident Commander, McKinney has coordinated state resources in Illinois at the State Emergency Operations Center for Hurricane Katrina, and numerous hazardous material incidents, catastrophic winter weather events, tornadoes and planned special events, and was the Incident Commander for the first two operational periods during the crippling floods in Nashville, Tennessee in 2009.
McKinney is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center Public Private Partnership Academy, the US Secret Service Academy and the Illinois State Police Academy.He was a Deputy Sheriff with the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Department and also served in the role of American Heart Association Training Center Administrator.
Mike is the recipient of the Illinois Governor’s Special Award of Valor, the US Department of Justice Award for Public Service and the Illinois Department of Corrections Special Achievement Award. He has shared his talents as a guest instructor at the FBI Academy as a Certified Gang Crime Specialist, Response to Active Shooter Incidents, and Basic Life Support instructor.

Matt Bryan is an Illinois Professional Emergency Manager, IPEM, Master Exercise Practitioner, MEP, and Lead Planning Section Chief/Co-Chair for Illinois’ Type3 Incident Management Team, and Director of the Chatham, IL Emergency Management Agency. He has participated in many incident activations and has been a planning specialist on numerous occasions.
Bryan served in the U.S. Army, 1St Cavalry Division as a Military Police Investigator based in Ft. Hood Texas and received an Honorable Discharge. He joined the Decatur Police Department and retired as a Master Patrol Officer, and was also a volunteer fire fighter for 14 years. Bryan established Applied Safety Consulting Inc., and provided numerous OHSA based safety training and emergency response courses to companies throughout the U.S. and Canada. He developed tabletop, as well as functional exercises, encompassing in-house to multi-day computer driven exercises with multi-state involvement.
As an Associate Field Staff Instructor for the Illinois Fire Service Institute, Matt instructed classes in the National Incident Management (NIMS), Basic Concepts of Terrorism, and acted as part-time NIMS/ICS Program Manager for the Institute. He has also presented for the University of Illinois as well as several Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) conferences.
Matt holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science and Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. He obtained the certification of Professional Development Series from FEMA and the State of Illinois.
